While staying with us, we would love to meet and introduce you to some, or all of our animals: horses, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, chickens & birds. There are numerous gorgeous bush walks on the property, some of which provide incredible views of the surrounding areas.

At any time, you could be lucky enough to come across a variety of native animals: echidna’s, wallaby’s, kangaroos, a variety of native birds, blue tongue lizards, and possums in self contained accommodation Mt. Rumney!

You will receive instructions a few days before arriving explaining how to get here and where to access the keys.

We may not be at the property when you arrive, but please let yourself into the cabin and enjoy your stay.

This is the “Seaview Eagle” House and is 2 Bedrooms and 1 open bathroom and is disability-friendly for wheelchair access. Mount Rumney Escapes is situated in a rural setting in Mount Rumney which is only 14 KM from Hobart CBD and 13 KM to Hobart International Airport.

This property is set in natural bushland – with gravel roads.

This property is close to all local attractions around Hobart and surrounding areas, including Richmond, Port Arthur, Hastings Cave, Mona Museum, Salamanca Market, and much more.

This property is set in natural bushland with magnificent views of Seven Mile Beach and on a small hobby farm with sheep, horses, goats, birds, and chickens.

Fully self-contained with all essential items, FREE Wi-Fi, TV, FREE Netflix, microwave/convection, Fridge freezer, washing machine, dryer, towel, and linen provided.

Our 5 cabins are self-sufficient with everything from water to power being made or harvested on-site. Being off-grid doesn’t mean that you have to go without thought.

We may not be at the property when you arrive, but please let yourself into the cabin and enjoy your stay. Please come and see us if you have any questions, especially in regard to water, gas bottles, or any other questions. 

If for some reason, we do not answer our phones, please send us a text message or leave a voice message and we will return your call as soon as possible. We normally don’t come down to interrupt you during your stay (as some people like the privacy), but if you want us too, please let us know if we see you around – we will certainly say hello and make sure everything is ok. 

You can walk around the tracks and go and see the animals. Please DO NOT enter into animal yards unless you ask (for safety reasons only). We are happy to take you to see animals and show you around. We currently have some new work going on, but this will not interrupt you at all.
